The route is a circular path around the last portion of the Ombrone valley, between the Amiata spurs and the city of Grosseto. The roads are not very busy and you only travel 3 km on Via Scansanese (S.P. 159), which is quite busy. The altitude gain in the first half of the route is notable but does not present particular difficulties. When managing your energy, consider that the final portion of the route requires fresh legs in order to tackle the last 4.5 km uphill without any problems. There are refreshment points in Campagnatico, Marrucheti, Istia d'Ombrone, Arcille and Sant'Antonio.
