What is there in the immediate area?

The Ombrone River. The round bends graze the slopes just below the hill where the estate stands. You can fish, go canoeing, collect wild fruits, go hiking along the Ombrone River. The area is very close to the park and secluded from the city. It teems with wildlife, such as hares, foxes and deer that go to the river to drink. Right below, in the location named "Steccaia", there is the old dam, built at the end of the 19th century to divert the river and reclaim the Maremmana swamp, a turning point in the history of our region.

Where are the beaches in Maremma?

The nearest beaches are those in Marina di Grosseto, Principina a Mare and Marina di Alberese.

Marina di Grosseto and Principina a Mare: they are located about 20 km from the estate (15-20 minutes by car). When you leave the farm turn right, after about 7 km turn right towards Grosseto and as soon as you enter the city turn left to follow the signs that read "Mare” (seaside).

Marina di Alberese: the beach is located within the Maremma Natural Park (about 15 km). As mentioned above, turn right when you leave the estate and at the junction turn left towards Rome. Continue a few kilometres and then exit towards Alberese\Rispescia. In July and August, if you wish to drive to the beaches in the park, you need to get a ticket at the visitor centre in Alberese (we recommend buying the ticket early in the morning or the day before you go). There are also shuttles to the beach and back departing from Alberese every 30 minutes.

We recommend that you visit other beaches along the coast, too: Talamone, Le Marze, Tombolo della Giannella and Feniglia, Riva del Sole, Castiglione della Pescaia, Le Rocchette, Cala Violina ... the list of must-see beaches never ends!

Our mascot is Martino, a sweet, gentle hunting dog. Dogs and cats are welcome on our farm, as long as they are taken good care of and monitored, following the basic rules of pet etiquette. There is a large lawn in front of the farm. It is a beautiful place where pets can have fun and play with their humans. If you wish to bring your dog to the beach, please read our dedicated page.
